First Look at RoboCop Statue
io9 has an exclusive first look at the RoboCop statue being developed by Omni Consumer Products. The fundraiser Detroit Needs a RoboCop reached its goal of $50,000 last week, despite Mayor Dave Bing’s disapproval of the statue. Its unfortunate that there really isn’t a clear argument over why this should exist. Most of those in favor of the statue seem to be missing the point entirely of a RoboCop statue (assuming they’ve actually seen the film itself), while the opposers are missing a huge opportunity to put their city in a more appealing light and even a potential increase in tourism.
